JoAna has always been a big fan of musical theater and that passion took her to the stage. She most recently appeared as Betty in Betty Bleeker's Divorce at Ross Valley Player's RAW Festival. She was the "opening act" for The Asian American Actors Ensemble's Broadway of the Pacific Rim Redux. She created and performed her one-woman cabaret show, Shades of Gray at the Larkspur Cafe and Theatre.
She has appeared in productions of Anything Goes, The Pied Piper of Hamelin Town and at the Fringe of Marin One Act Festival in 2004 and 2008. She created a two-woman show with Deborah Lynne Lombardo, aptly titled Broadway Babes, which they performed at The Marsh in San Francisco. In Moonlight Through Ivy, she enjoyed filming at UC Berkeley and playing a college professor.
JoAna currently studies with Richard Nickol of the SF Academy for the Performing Arts, Bobby Weinapple of Seydways Studios and is working with Charlie Varon on creating a solo performance piece with singing or as she likes to call it: a solo musical. She has also studied at the SF Acting Academy and the Marin Theatre Conservatory. She is a member of Theatre Bay Area.
